Frequently asked questions

DO YOU DYNO EVERY SHOCK?

Yes. A shock doesn't leave our facility that hasn't been dyno tested. Each customer will be furnished with a complete dyno sheet for reference. There are many changing variables when building a custom shock and we must dyno to ensure they meet our tight tolerances. It is common to disassemble and reassemble each shock many times until it meets our expectations.

WHERE DO I GET A NITROGEN TANK TO FILL MY SHOCKS?

Any welding supply store can provide you with a nitrogen tank and regulator.  The smallest tank should last you a full season.  You will also need a Martin Dynamics Shock inflation tool.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHECK THE GAS PRESSURE IN MY SHOCKS?

We recommend verifying the correct gas pressure in your shocks on a weekly basis.

I PURCHASED A SHOCK FROM MARTIN DYNAMICS, HOW DO I KNOW WHAT VALVING IT WILL BE?

All Martin Dynamics shocks are custom valved for your application.  An engineer will be in contact with you to obtain information about your race car before the valving profile is designed and built.

DOES CUSTOM VALVING COST MORE?

No.  All Martin Dynamics shocks are custom valved based on customer needs.  We don't charge extra to build custom valving.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT A SHOCK VALVING, BUT I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO KNOW ABOUT IT?

All valving profiles are private between you and Martin Dynamics.

HOW QUICKLY CAN YOU REPAIR A DAMAGED SHOCK?

Usually, a shock can be repaired within 1-3 business days.  We maintain a large inventory of parts on hand, and will always do our best to assure you're on the track before the next race.
